Did Donald Trump And Vladimir Putin Have A Phone Call? Here’s What Russia Said News24 –

The Kremlin has reportedly rejected reports claiming that US President-elect Donald Trump held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in which the latter asked Putin to avoid escalating the war in Ukraine. The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, described these reports as “pure fiction.”

Kremlin Calls Media Reports “False”

Peskov characterised the reports as ‘untrue’, citing, “This is just false information. There was no conversation. This is the most obvious example of the quality of the information that is being published now, sometimes even in fairly reputable.” Peskov made these remarks at the press briefing on Monday.

No Concrete Plans For Contact Between Putin & Trump

According to Al Jazeera, on being asked whether President Putin had any plans for contact with Donald Trump, he replied, “There are no concrete plans yet.”

The Washington Post reported that Trump reminded Putin during the call of Washington’s sizable military presence in Europe.

Trump’s Stance On Ukraine Conflict

Trump has earlier mentioned during his US presidential campaign that he wanted the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, though he did not provide details on his plans to do it.

The US Daily claimed that Trump privately supported an agreement where Russia would retain control of some liberated territories. Additionally, it stated that the Kyiv officials did not object to the alleged phone call.
