Financial Authorities Freezes Bank Accounts Of 17 Individuals Linked To ISKCON, Including Chinmoy Krishna Das News24 –
Financial authorities in Bangladesh on Friday ordered the bans and financial institutions to freeze the account of 17 people who are associated with ISKCON, this includes the former member of ISKCON Chinmoy Krishna Das. The order for freezing the bank accounts is for 30 days, as per media reports.
Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has issued a directive on Thursday to suspend all transaction for these accounts, as reported by Prothom Alo.
Further the BFIU has asked the banks to give the account information which will have transaction records of 17 people. They have asked the banks to provide these reports within three working days, as per reports.
This step from them came after the Bangladesh High Court dismissed the petition which was seeking ban on ISKCON.

MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that, “”India has consistently and strongly raised with the Bangladesh government the threats and targeted attacks on Hindus and other minorities. We made our position very clear as far as the situation of Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh is concerned. The interim government must live up to its responsibility of protecting all minorities. We are concerned about the surge of extremist rhetoric, increasing incidents of violence and provocation. These developments cannot be dismissed only as media exaggerations. We once again call upon Bangladesh to take all steps for the protection of minorities and safeguarding their interests.”
ISKCON On Chinmoy Krishna Das
ISKCON on Thursday showed their support to priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was arrested on charges of sedition for allegedly raising a flag on a stand displaying Bangladesh’s national flag. They mentioned on their X handle, saying, “Iskcon,Inc. stands with Sri Chinmoy Krishna Das. Our prayers to Lord Krishna for the protection of all these devotees.”
