Indian’s who apply for work visa for Saudi Arabia will have to go though this new update brought by the country. This rule has been effective from today that is January 14, 2025.
From now they will have to do the pre-verification of their educational and professional qualifications.
As quoted by The Indian Express, the Saudi mission in India issued the circular which mentioned that, “professional verification procedures for issuing work visas will be implemented from January 14. Therefore, the professional verification will become one of the mandatory requirements for issuing work visas.”
This move us likely to limit the number of workers from India entering Saudi Arabia. The Indian’s form the second largest expatriate community in Saudi Arabia, with more than 2.4 million workers from India in 2024. And 1.64 million are in the private area and 785,000 are in domestic sector. Under this Bangladesh is leading with around 2.69 expatriate workers, as per media reports.
According to media reports, the labour sector in Saudi Arabia is going with several changes which includes strict certification in the jobs, this comes as part of the country’s vision and their aim to employee more of their nationals in the sector.
All applicants will have to validate their academic qualifications. This is due to the country’s aim to enhance the worker retention rates.
