The Chinese government expressed support regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statements about necessary Indian-Chinese collaboration for global stability and prosperity. They also declared their readiness to reconstruct bilateral relations together with New Delhi.
In a podcast broadcast on Sunday Modi explained that natural disagreements exist between neighboring countries including India and China yet these disagreements should not lead to disputes when the countries require partnership to achieve global stability and prosperity. The incidents of confrontation along the Line of Actual Control in 2020 resulted in “significant tensions” which the two countries now strive to normalize their relations.
According to Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning the statements by Prime Minister Narendra Modi about bilateral relations are “positive.” China also declares its willingness to collaborate with India to rebuild their partnership.
As reported by Hindustan Times, China appreciates Modi’s “positive statements” on bilateral relations, and the successful meeting between Xi and Modi in Kazan last October “provided strategic guidance” for improving and developing bilateral ties, she said.
“Both sides have earnestly followed through on the important common understandings of our leaders, strengthened exchanges and practical cooperation at all levels, and achieved a series of positive outcomes,” she said.
The border conflict between India and China ended in October when both nations finished their agreement to stop their troops along the LAC beginning in April-May 2020. Both leaders Prime Minister Modi and President Xi reaffirmed this understanding through their meeting in Kazan, Russia when they decided to bring back mechanisms that address border issues and work towards normalized relations.
Mao as Chinese spokesperson reinforced Modi’s statement about peaceful coexistence between India and China throughout thousands of years before remarking on their diplomatic relationship foundation based on friendly exchanges and mutual learning. The Foreign Minister Wang Yi of China previously confirmed that dragon-elephant cooperation represents the single feasible way forward for both countries and Minister Jaishankar adopted this diplomatic approach.
When he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Modi stressed that dialogue remains superior to discord for achieving stability between India and China as a foundation for cooperation between the two countries. The leaders of both nations achieved border stability after their session with Xi and they are actively bringing the region back to its 2020 state. The leader of India emphasized that natural competition between his nation and China should never turn into conflict since mutual collaboration is crucial to achieve international stability and global prosperity.
