India-US Trade Talks Wrap Up In New Delhi, Set To Boost Trade To $500 Billion By.. News24 –


The New Delhi-based India-US trade negotiations concludes, while the Bilateral Trade Agreement’s virtual portion of sector-specific expert-level meetings is scheduled to start in the following weeks, according to Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

The development of a Bilateral Trade Agreement continues until the achievement of 500 billion Dollar bilateral trade levels by 2030 as per the India-US Joint Statement from February 13, 2025. A meeting between representatives from the Department of Commerce India and US Trade Representative Office took place at New Delhi between March 26th and March 29th of 2025. A mutually beneficial BTA underwent development through four days of specific talks between representatives who agreed on steps to create growth conditions for fairness and national security and job creation. The intended deadline for achieving first agreement completion falls during the fall of 2025, as per Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

As per release, “The successful conclusion of the discussions reflects progress in efforts to expand India-U.S. bilateral trade and investment relations to promote prosperity, security and innovation in both the countries. These steps are designed to unlock new opportunities for businesses, drive bilateral economic integration, and reinforce the economic partnership between India and the United States.
India and the United States expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the meeting and reaffirmed their dedication to ongoing collaboration. Both sides look forward to building on this milestone in the coming months to finalize the BTA, ensuring it aligns with the shared goals of prosperity, resilience, and mutual benefit.”
