IMD Weather Update: As the second day of this week begins, the weather is a little warmer than the previous days. However, some regions continue to experience wet conditions attributing to western disturbances or cyclonic depression. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that the land of the rising sun, Arunachal Pradesh, will receive light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning during the next seven days.
Gusty winds will also continue to blow in some parts of Arunachal at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph. The impact of cyclonic Circulation looming over northeast Assam and the neighbourhood areas may also be seen across the northeast states. The Met Body forecasts light to moderate rain coupled with strong surface winds, thunderstorms, and lightning over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during this week. The speed of the wind blowing may go up to 50 kmph in these regions.
Rain Expected To Lash Central East India
According to IMD, a trough and wind confluence brewing over East India will bring scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Central East India. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal will get rain from the 19th till the 23rd of March with peak activity on the 20th & 21st. Isolated hailstorms are likely to prevail over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha on 20th and 21st March, IMD reported.
Heat Wave Warning
In some states, temperatures have started rising in the past two weeks. The states mostly affected are Odisha and Gujarat. IMD predicts heat wave to severe heat wave conditions in isolated pockets of interior Odisha for the next 2 days.

Hot & Humid Weather Warning
Gujarat will continue to witness hot and humid conditions in its coastal areas until the next 5 days. Additionally, Residents in Konkan & Goa will be bothered by the hot weather on 18th March and north interior Karnataka on 19th March.
