TV Umpire Breaks Silence On Suryakumar Yadav Catch vs SA


Following Team India’s historic T20 World Cup triumph in the West Indies, controversies surrounded Indian star batter Suryakumar Yadav regarding his miraculous catch to dismiss David Miller in the final over the match. Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant on the spot thinking gave Team India a superb title win in the World Cup after 13 years.

Following the World Cup final, several images and videos surfaced on the internet showing Suryakumar Yadav’s toe touching the boundary line while he had the ball in his hand. While many fans commented on the same, the TV umpire Richard Kettleborough on the day broke his silence recently, lauding the athletic effort by Suryakumar Yadav and deeming it as the ‘Catch of the Tournament’ on social media platform ‘X’.

“When the ball was coming, for a second I looked at him and he looked at me. I ran and my aim was to catch the ball. Had he [Rohit] been closer, I would have thrown the ball towards him. But he was nowhere close. In those four to five seconds, whatever happened, I can’t explain.” Suryakumar said after the catch.
